The purpose of the Endowment Fund is to enhance the capabilities of the Library beyond the services and financial support provided by the Town of Brewster and the Brewster Ladies’ Library Association. This fund was established to provide stability in meeting the Library’s ongoing financial needs and to assure its future sustainability.
Though the Brewster Ladies’ Library receives support from the Town of Brewster, it has relied on residents’ personal gifts of money and time to enhance its stature as a privately managed free resource for the town.
The non-profit Brewster Ladies’ Library Endowment Fund was established to develop and maintain a capital base for future extraordinary needs that cannot be met by the town’s contributions.
With the help of your estate or tax advisor, you may choose from several types of planned gifts. Depending on the type of gift you choose, you may increase your current income and gain tax benefits. At the same time, you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you, like generations of Brewster citizens, have generously helped to perpetuate this proud symbol of the community.
If you choose to bequest $5,000 or more through a will, trust or a life insurance policy, you will become a member of the Sea Captain’s Circle and be awarded a beautiful sterling silver pin designed by Brewster resident Norah Bourbon
If you would like to discuss how you might best participate, the Library Director can refer you to an Endowment Fund trustee. However, before you make a decision regarding a gift to the Fund, you should discuss the full legal and tax implications with your estate planner.
