For the month of January 2018, the Brewster Ladies’ Library is pleased to present an art show by Mitali Chakraborty, titled “Inspired by Nature, Driven by Soul.”
Mitali has worked with a variety of mediums. She has made lacework by tatting; painted with oil, acrylic, water, and alcohol ink on canvas, glass and ceramics; and taken up photography as a hobby to document the world around her. She discovered glass as a medium for self-expression in 2006, and in 2010, she incorporated copper and silver into her eclectic style. As an artist, Mitali values the experience of embodying perspective and emotion in a tactile, multidimensional object. Her art is a compilation of all her travels, and her thoughts on life, politics, and the world as she sees it. At the core of her art, Mitali embodies the belief that nature provides inspiration – you have to just keep your eyes and heart open.
The public is invited to meet the artist at a reception at the Library on Saturday, January 6 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
This exhibit is sponsored by the Brewster Ladies’ Library. Please call the Library at (508) 896-3913 before coming, due to the exhibition room sometimes being in use for a program and not open for viewing.
