Book Discussions
As part of "Brewster is Reading... The Old Man and the Sea", the library is promoting discussions of the selected books throughout the month.
Tuesday, May 15 1:00 p.m.
Joan Lange and Steve Orvis will lead a discussion of the book at the center of this campaign,
The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway. Readers of all ages are invited to come and share their thoughts on this timeless novel.

A light luncheon will be served prior to the discussion in the library auditorium beginning at 12:15 p.m. Admission is free.

In keeping with the spirit of community participation, Epoch Assisted Living of Brewster will be holding a special book discussion on-site, which is limited to residents of the facility. The staff at Epoch will team up with Adult Services librarian Kathleen Remillard of the Brewster
Ladies' Library to co-host this event.
Thursday, May 24 3:30 p.m.
Younger readers are invited to attend a discussion of the book The Young Man and the Sea by Rodman Philbrick on Thursday, May 24 at 3:30 p.m. in the library auditorium.
The discussion will be led by library staff, the Eddy School librarian and a teacher from the Laurel School. The discussion is geared for students in Grade 4 and up. All who have read the book are welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served.
